Serge Gainsbourg – Le Poinçonneur des Lilas (LP)
At first, it didn't look as if Serge Gainsbourg had a great career ahead of him. Until the age of 30, the French chansonnier, singer, film actor, composer and writer, who was born in Paris on April 2, 1928, lived from odd jobs.
He taught drawing and singing, but his main occupation was painting. Boris Vian turned him away from painting in 1958 and led him to chanson. Confirmed by his first successes, he began to compose a large number of chansons for several singers. in 1965, France Gall won the Eurovision Song Contest with his composition "Poupée de cire, poupée de son".

From 1966, he increasingly turned to pop music and found favor with a younger audience. His greatest success as a performer came in a duet with Jane Birkin, with whom he released his song "Je t'aime ... moi non plus" in 1969. In the seventies, he released various concept albums and began flirting with other genres such as rock and reggae. From the end of the 1970s, Gainsbourg perfected his alter ego Gainsbarre, the smoker and drinker he described in his song "Ecce Homo". Marked by alcoholism, Gainsbourg died in Paris in 1991. In France, he is considered one of the most influential and creative singer/songwriters of his era.
