I'M JIMMY REED is a 1958 album that collects (on the VeeJay label) a series of singles published between 1953 and 1958, thus resulting in Jimmy Reed's first Long Playing: singer, harmonica player and guitarist born in Mississippi and moved to Chicago, one of the first exponents of electric blues. Highly effective harmonica player, guitarist and singer with a hypnotic and spare style, but it was the tip of the iceberg: even today people like Keith Richards and Billy F Gibbons point to him as a model and source of inspiration.
