After the peak at the end of the eighties, the thrash metal genre, which was once started by bands such as Metallica, Exodus or Legacy (Testament) in the USA, then also by Sodom, Kreator or Destruction in Germany, fell silent. It wasn't until the 2000s that bands started to revisit this style, which lies roughly between speed metal and death metal. Today, thrash is probably bigger than ever before due to many still active acts from the eighties and young newcomers.

This vinyl box contains four albums which, although different, all belong to the genre. First and foremost is Raging Violence from the USA. This is the original Hirax line-up, but with singer Rob Perkins. New songs and new recordings (including the rare demo track "Born In The Streets") delighted fans and critics alike. Excess from Germany was a death-thrash band that never made it to an album. After three demos, however, they swarmed out in successful directions: Crematory, Mystic Circle and Blood. There was no more time for Excess... The demo recordings were restored and remastered and released for the first time on LP and CD by Golden Core / ZYX. On the tape "Crucifixion" you can hear drummer Neudi (Manilla Road, Trance, Savage Grace, etc.).

With "Condemned To Be Doomed", Scarecrow released a now rare self-pressing in 1988, which is probably one of the most unusual German thrash albums. Here, punk attitude meets progressive elements, while the basis is pure thrash. No other album sounds like this extraordinary work by the German band. Possuido Pelo Cao come or came (sometimes they are active, sometimes not...) from Brazil, offering crossover thrash influenced by D. R.I. and Suicidal Tendencies. The fast, short tracks leave no eye dry... and no neck spared. The hefty work from 2008 was only released on CD at the time.
